The quality of team's and cross-team's communication is one of the key success factors in the IT business. At the start of a large activity or project, it is important to make sure that all participants in the process understand the goals and objectives. Moreover, in large engineering teams it is important to build a communication process that will avoid duplication of work and ensure that teams are aware of the tasks and achievements of the neighboring department. Using a couple of stories as an example, I will look at specific actions that can be taken to improve communication flow, information, and generally talk about how effective communication within and between teams becomes part of the engineering culture.
